Latest 5K Race Results
Since the Predators Fangtastic 5K last month, I've been regularly running 5Ks. I do most of my running on a treadmill at the local YMCA, but I've also run two more races.
On March 10, 2007 I ran in the Goodpasture Cougar Crawl 5K, which is a relatively new local race for my son's future school. (He starts Kindergarten there this fall.) Amy ran in this one with me, and our stats from the official race results are:
PLACE NAME TIME PACE
52 Bill Menees 30:13 9:43
71 Amy Oldham 37:42 12:07
There were 103 finishers. The weather was nice (60 and sunny), and it was a great race overall. Some of the hills were a little tough though. One of them went steadily upward from mile 1 to mile 2.5!
On March 17, 2007 I ran in the Tom King 5K, which is a popular local race. It's the flatest race in this area because it's all run beside LP Field, which is right on the Cumberland River. From the official race results:
PLACE NAME TIME PACE
216 Bill Menees 27:40 8:56
There were 495 finishers, and the weather was sunny but cool (31 and windy). The finish line was on the 50 yard line in LP Field, which was kind of nice because we got to run down a big ramp onto the field, and I like downhill stretches.
I'm (barely) in a few of the pictures posted on the Nashville Striders Gallery:
